Louis XV reigns in France and is hosting a grand festival in the gardens of Versailles. Everyone is clamoring for you to provide tantalizing and delicious pastries for the event. This isn’t just about your pâtisserie – it’s about creating a presence at the most prestigious festival of the era that provides the chance to gain everlasting fame and prestige and opportunities to gain favor with important nobles.

Players represent the pastry shops (les pâtisseries) and pastry chefs (les pâtissiers) preparing pastries for sale and for show at the Versailles Garden Festival. Will you be able to outdo your rivals and win valued prestige with the nobles?

Using the unique deck-building mechanism of the much-loved Rococo Deluxe, La Pâtisserie Rococo streamlines the gameplay to a family-friendly 90 minutes.

The players hire staff to create recipes, acquire quality ingredients, and bake delicious desserts. Then comes the challenging decision of whether to sell these delectable creations for profit or present them for possible awards. The player who creates the most acclaimed desserts will gain fame and the respect of the king and his nobles.

Step into a world of culinary mastery, managing your pastry chefs and apprentices to choose between nine optional actions. Acquire new recipes or send apprentices to purchase various ingredients or basics like butter, sugar, and flour. Employ pastry chefs to create special decorative touches to make your pastries stand out, or hire new staff with more powerful bonus skills. You can also bake multiple pastry dishes and choose between selling them or presenting them before the noble judges to gain prestige. You might also employ servers to gain prestige for your presentations or even appoint noble hosts to oversee the presentation tables, which will also gain you additional prestige. You can even dismiss staff to gain much-needed cash! The winner will be the pâtissier who gains the most prestige.
