A small expansion for Yedo: Deluxe Master Set (Shogun Edition) that includes the following:

- 15 Card Mission Pack - Surprise Missions do not come with a bonus section. Instead, a rules text appears, telling you exactly how a given Mission will influence the game – either immediately, or during the next round. Each Mission will either introduce a sudden twist that benefits you, or create an opportunity for everyone to gain something unique next round.

In essence, whenever you complete an (Un)pleasant Surprise Mission, you will create a positive or negative effect your opponents will have deal with. A pleasant Surprise Mission might see all Weapons cheaper due to an abduction of the Shogun’s daughter. Now everyone should arm themselves and look for the culprits – which will allow all players to get Weapons more easily. An unpleasant Surprise Mission, on the other hand, may forbid anyone from bidding for or buying Annexes next turn – as all available wood is to be handed over to the shipbuilders, reading the Shogun for a naval conflict.

- 15 Card Trade Pack that come with a completely new mechanism: set collection. The Shonin part of the expansion will allow players to buy semi-random luxury goods at the Harbor and in the Gates District. These can be traded between players – and will offer point boosts at the end of the game. As befitting a wealthy and powerful clan, you will try to create a collection that surpasses others – and score the most points.

Both parts of the (Un)pleasant Surprise expansion work towards creating even more interaction between players. Since they make the game a notch more complex, they are recommended for the more experienced dwellers of Yedo, bringing – yet again – a few new twists and options to play a different game every time.
