Insert compatible with Dinosaur Island Extreme Edition®. The design provides both efficient storage and improved game play. Many of the trays can be utilised during the game, and they greatly aid set-up and clear-away times. The rules and boards act as a lid on top of the trays.
This same insert also works with the Totally Liquid Extreme Edition® expansion, for which we have created a separate product page. If you own both sets you will need two inserts to store them.
Note: Insert designed for game with external box dimensions of 29.5 x 29.5 x 7.0 cm.
The insert is in two layers just in one corner, you can see in the top right the bottom layer tray. Also note here how the dino recipe tiles are stacked in the other top corner, and that the player and game boards are on top of each other in the bottom of the box.
The insert works well with the regular retail version of Dinosaur Island®, however it is not ideal for the Delux edition version as the metal coins it contains are too thick for the coin trays.
These are the trays for the dinosaurs and cards, and for the player pieces. The tray for the dinos was made as large as possible to make it easy to store either the regular triceratops pieces, or the full KS selection of species. There is space for all cards to be sleeved. Each player has their own separate tray for their pieces.
These are the other trays for the remaining game components. There is a tray for storing all visitor meeples (prior to them being placed in the bag), and a tray for storing the VIP visitors and the dice. There is a large tray for vertical storage of the lab upgrades, paddocks, and attraction tiles. Then there are two separate trays for storing the metal coins, also vertically for ease of access. One tray can be placed on either side of the table.
The two coin trays can be assembled in one of two ways: either for vertical storage of the metal coins or as a simple box for storing the card coins from the game. Note that if the metal coins are used there is not then another storage space for the card ones, and these would need to be kept elsewhere.
As mentioned above many of the trays can be used during the game to organise the components and make access by all players easy.
For this insert the game boards go on the bottom and the insert trays on top, as noted above. Once all trays are placed inside, next goes the rulebook. After this should go the visitor bag, with the knots from the string tucked into the spaces as shown. Lastly the fast pass wrist band is placed over the string. The box is then fully loaded, and the lid will close flush and the game can be stored vertically.
Note: the insert does have space for the "create your own" attraction and lab upgrade cards, but it does NOT have space for the slang tokens and three "create your own" dino recipe tiles. These would need to be stored separately in an insert in the Totally Liquid box. The KS pogs do not have a slot in the inserts.
DINOSAUR ISLAND TOTALLY LIQUID EXTREME EDITION EXPANSION
This insert works equally well in the Totally Liquid Extreme Edition® expansion.
The insert is in two layers just in one corner, you can see in the top right the bottom layer tray. Also note here how the dino recipe tiles are stacked in the other top corner. When used with the expansion the boards need to be stacked in a different way than for the main game. See info below on how this works.
These are the trays for the dinosaurs and cards, and for other components. The tray for the dinos was made as large as possible to make it easy to store the full KS selection of water living species. There is a tray for the fifth player pieces, and three other trays for storing dinos and tokens. The two dino trays are used here to store the smaller animals and separately the pandasaurus pieces. The last tray is for the green tokens from both sets, including the slang tokens from the main game
These are the other trays for the remaining game components. There is a tray for storing remaining dinos from your collection, and a tray for the marker cubes, the dice and the Mega Rex. There is a large tray for vertical storage of the lab upgrades, paddocks, and attraction tiles. This tray also stores the large mega rex token and casino game tiles. The other two smaller trays are for the plastic goats, eggs and baby dinos, and then for the executives. The additional visitor meeples that come with the expansion should be added to the meeple tray in the main game box.
The main game and the expansion have differing numbers of boards, and in the Totally Liquid expansion the boards are 8 mm lower when stacked. To fill this space the insert comes with two space filler grids.
When used with the expansion the box is loaded slightly differently. First go the space filler grids, followed by one of the game boards to make a platform for the trays and recipe tiles above. On top of the trays go the remaining boards and then the facility boards, which are stacked in two sets of four (you can also place here the "create your own" recipe tiles from the main game). Lastly go the expansion rules. The box is then fully loaded, and the lid will close flush and the game can be stored vertically.
